Safety at Kickstart
Miranda Mitchell, founder of Kickstart Martial Arts and Yoga, is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all
students, instructors and families.
This page details Kickstart’s current policies, procedures, forms and resources.
Miranda has completed the Queensland Government’s Child Safe Education training and recommends it to anyone who would like to gain a basic understanding of child-safe legislation and best practices when working with young people.
This training builds on Miranda’s 20 years of experience working in education and supporting the development and wellbeing of children and young people.
We are committed to continually strengthening our understanding and practices so Kickstart remains a safe, supportive and empowering environment for all students.
Child Safety Standard at Kickstart
At Kickstart, creating a safe and supportive environment for young people is fundamental to our culture.
All adult members who hold the rank of Brown Belt or above are current Blue Card holders. This is our minimum standard for adults who take on leadership or mentorship roles at Kickstart.
Thank you to everyone in the Kickstart community for enthusiastically supporting this standard. We are committed to maintaining a strong child-safe environment and continuing to strengthen our practices as our community grows.
Kickstart is proud to be leading the way in building a safe, supportive and inclusive community for young people.
Child Safety and Wellbeing Manual
This manual provides the framework for Kickstart to meet the Queensland Child Safe Standards (effective 1 October 2025) and to uphold the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
It consolidates all required documents into one cohesive package.
